Update – At Long Last

May 21st, 2010 6 comments

OK, it’s been a while, but I’ve finally gotten the plug-in updated to work with RDi 7.5 & higher (this includes RDP).

The installation is even easier now … just add to the Eclipse update site and the plug-in will install. It will also allow you to easily update it when new releases are available.

I’ve also decided to ‘stabilize’ the WDSC 7.0 / RDi 7.1 version of the plug-in, so new updates will only be made to the RDi 7.5+ version.

I have a bunch of ideas for new capabilities for the plug-in … so keep an eye on this space.

RDi 7.5 support

Sorry for the delay … but I’m now working on updating this plug-in to work with RDi 7.5.  I hope to have something available later this week.

If you’re attending COMMON in Reno this spring, I’ll be presenting an Introduction to RDi Plug-in Development session.

RSE Plugin

The other day Mike Wills posted a message in the WDSCI-L list asking if there were a way to have the Remote System Explorer tree in WDSC show an objects description to the right of the objects name.

After thinking about it a bit, I determined that what he wanted was a “label decorator” for the RSE tree.  This, I figured, would be fairly easy to add as a stand alone plug-in.

When I got home I did a bit of hacking in WDSC and came up with a (very) simple plug-in to acomplish what he was looking for.

I created the plug-in and put it up on Google Code … it’s not quite ready for an automated install, but you can play with it if you want … visit to get the source.
